Hradec Kralove
From Hradec Kralove, Ivan Ruzicka and his wife Kamila. They are both teacher trainers, both very skilled athletes and very good friends of ours. Ivan leads the worship in the local church, but is also a nationally recognised singer/song writer and often leads in major conferences.With their two sons, they recently won a Europe wide championship for 'sports family of the year' with Mercedes. They are also trying to teach us to ski!
Also from Hradec Kralove is the pastor Jakub Limr, his wife Karolina and their daughter Eliska.
It's seven years since Jakub and I met. He had been asked to take on the pastorate of a group of about 20 that had left their local congregation (more true to say the congregation had left them, actually). At the time he was a theological student with more than a year left, 100 km away and actually in another denomination! It was a dodgy situation! So I was asked to be there as a friend and shoulder to weep on. Over those years, we have become good friends and God has really blessed them in Hradec. They recently moved to a new meeting place because the old one was too small. On Sunday mornings, counting children, there are about a hundred meeting regularly.
It was a brave step to take, but God has so vindicated the wisdom and insight of the Dan Drapal, who was then leading the Christian Fellowship work in the nation.
My belief is that both Jakub and the church there are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future. We shall hear more of them.
