Countdown to Launch Weekend

The New Year has come, the snow keeps falling and we are one week away from the launch of Potenciál.  As weather conditions in the Czech Republic are similar to those in UK we are beginning to wonder what kind of journey we shall have. Wasn’t there something about a Czech King who took his page into the deep snow to give a peasant a nice Christmas? (Wenceslas of course!)

It may be a bit early to worry, but our prayer is that we, and all the students, will get there safely and on time!

Psalm 19 v1-4:
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

What reassurance to know that snow laden skies still proclaim the work of God's hands. Our God is still in control, and the weather across Europe will do His bidding. Pray that we will hear and understand His voice displayed in the heavens.

Everything seems to be ready, our administrator Kamila, has worked very hard and is an absolute gift from God for us. So far none of our 38 students have withdrawn from the course (which is unusual – you normally expect a small leakage). One or two have indicated that they will be under pressure but are believing God for their financial needs (we can arrange to relieve you of money to help them!)

We believe that we have a good weekend planned. Dennis is leading two sessions on ’Knowing God’, Sue two on evangelism and one on worship, Jakub is concentrating on the subject of ‘Enjoying the Bible’ and Peter Sargent is opening his programme with a look at personal security.

So please pray for us. The launch weekend is very important. We want to get it right and we know that God is on our side, but we know the opposition never sleeps.

We shall send you a full report (with pictures of Czech snow...)
