Prague Spring? 9th-11th April 2010
After the winter we have had, both in the UK and the Czech Republic, I am hesitant about that title! At the same time, I trust that what God has planned for the latter will also have a profound effect.
It is the next weekend of Potenciál, the third occasion the school has come together. We have an exciting programme and are seeing this as a time of breakthrough in our lives and ministry. Dennis and Sue, Jakub and Pete will be around, as on the first weekend, but this time Rachel Hickson (many of you will have been blessed by her international, prophetic ministry) and Garrie-John Barnes (a prophetic worship leader from Hope House Church in Barnsley) will also be on the team.
The aim of the course is, as you know, to release more of the power, wisdom and knowledge of God into the lives of each of us; teachers as well as students. We want to see a hunger for God growing, even as it is being satisfied. We expect to experience new movements of God in our lives and churches that will have a impact upon many. We believe that many will move in gifts of the Holy Spirit that will be new to them or in a deeper dimension than before.
Does this sound ambitious? We believe absolutely it is not just our arrogance or fantasy: it is what God himself wants to see. We are praying, 'Your will be done‘ and believing for much! The feedback so far from the students has been an encouragement. We only saw the first weekend in January as an introduction, but the response was great. One student in her 40s commented to a friend that it was 'life-changing‘! Praise God!
At the same time we have faced problems. Several of us, both students and teachers have faced considerable difficulties and opposition. Do pray for us all to get there (that has not been easy recently!) and for any hindrance or roadblock to be removed. We want everyone to leave on Sunday talking about life-changing experiences! And may you experience nothing less than that as you pray for us. You may not be with us physically and we may never realise on this earth how important your part is, but God really rewards his faithful sons and daughters.
